Project Description:
The Residences at 400 Central is located at 400 Central Avenue Condo in St. Petersburg, Florida. The project consists of 46 stories including an elegant lobby on the ground floor, first-class amenities spaces and residential units that carry through the Coastal Modern design aesthetic. The entry lobby has a relaxed sophistication that is bright and inviting. Walls wrapped in white oak undulating panels are offset by a sculptural marble and bronze reception desk and playful large-scale wall mural. The furniture is residential in feel and mixes fully upholstered pieces with metal framed lounge chairs and wood coffee tables. This mix keeps the space fresh, unique and comfortable.
The amenities spaces include a lush landscaped 16,000 square foot resort-style pool deck on the 7th floor. The crisp neutral fabrics and warm teak wood tones work with the white exterior of the building to create the feeling of relaxed luxury. The pool includes a spa, wet deck with sun loungers, cabanas, sun lounging areas with umbrellas, an outdoor game area with a pool table and bocce court, fire pits, dog walking area and outdoor kitchen.
The observatory on the 46th floor rooftop has breathtaking views of the city and the bay from both an indoor and exterior lounge space. The interior lounge features varied seating so residents can use this space for functions, a relaxing place to read or to enjoy a cozy evening cocktail. Mimicking the soft curves of the building, vertical wood fins ungulate around the space creating an organic backdrop. This organic form is also used for the recessed ceiling coves and in the soft curves of the furniture. Combined these elements create a space that feels inviting, intimate and dynamic.
The indoor amenities on the 8th floor each have a distinctive design highlighting the function of the space while all tying back to the coastal modern aesthetic. The board room and coworking space is designed for private meetings, break-out groups and single person working. The color palate is a mix of warm neutral tones, rich blue fabrics and light gray wallcovering making the space fresh and edited to get work done.
The game room is a bit more playful with lively, sun baked oranges, blues and greens in both the upholstery and architectural finishes. These colors are balanced with built-in walnut millwork and white oak flooring to add additional warmth. A pool table, game table and overscale residential style furniture make this space inviting for all.
The theater balances a comfortable lounge with a cool hangout space. A large sofa anchors the room with plush lounge chairs all posed for great viewing of the large TV mounted to a feature ‘theater’ wall. The large wood architectural surround focuses the attention on the TV and creates drama in the room.
The bar and lounge area shifts a bit more polished with a darker, richer color palate and materials. Designed to rival the best lounges in the area, the room is wrapped in walnut wood wall panels and a royal blue paint. Gold leaf wallcovering pops in the recessed ceiling over the lounge seating casting a warm firefly glow on the space. The leather lounge chairs and cocktail tables are meant to be flexible for smaller groups or large parties.
